Position summary

We are looking for an experienced Compute SME to provide L3 technical leadership and operational ownership across Windows Server, VMware virtualization and Endpoint Management environments. The role will be responsible for infrastructure stability, patching, monitoring, security compliance, capacity, lifecycle management, automation and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Server Operations

  • Provide L3 support for Windows Server incidents, alerts and technical escalations.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments.
  • Manage monthly patching and emergency patching for critical CVEs.
  • Administer Group Policy , server hardening and standard image compliance.
  • Support service accounts, IIS provisioning, certificates and OS-level requests.
  • Coordinate with Security for vulnerability remediation and Microsoft Defender posture.
  • Support OS-level backup verification in coordination with Backup teams.

VMware Virtualization

  • Provide L3 support for VMware ESXi and vCenter environments.
  • Manage ESXi/vCenter patching, incidents and operational housekeeping.
  • Support VM provisioning, decommissioning, snapshots, vMotion, DRS and HA.
  • Monitor and report cluster, host and datastore capacity/utilization.
  • Coordinate with Storage and Backup teams for datastore and VM requirements.
  • Support VMware critical vulnerability remediation.

Endpoint Management

  • Provide L3 operational support for SCCM, Intune and Autopilot .
  • Manage software deployment, OS imaging and endpoint patching.
  • Maintain endpoint compliance reporting covering patching, Defender, encryption and configuration baselines.
  • Support driver/firmware deployment and Intune profile management.
  • Support Autopilot enrollment and device management.
  • Manage application packaging for approved applications within defined service volumes.
  • Coordinate endpoint escalations with the Service Desk.

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and technically mentor L1/L2 teams across global regions.
  • Drive Incident, Problem, Change and Request Management.
  • Participate in P1/P2 major incident resolution and RCA.
  • Maintain runbooks, SOPs and operational documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement.
  • Ensure effective APAC–EMEA–NLAM follow-the-sun handovers.
  • Collaborate with Identity, Security, Storage/Backup, Network, Cloud, Service Desk and Application teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8–12+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, Windows Server, VMware and endpoint management operations.
  • Global 24x7x365 support across APAC, EMEA and NLAM , including coordination and technical leadership of L1/L2 support teams.
  • Strong enterprise experience in Windows Server administration .
  • Hands-on expertise with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 .
  • Strong VMware ESXi/vCenter administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune and Autopilot .
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Windows security hardening .
  • Experience with OS/hypervisor patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, snapshots and VM lifecycle management .
  • Experience with endpoint patching, compliance, software deployment and device management.
  • Strong Incident, Problem and Change Management experience.
  • Experience managing/mentoring L1/L2 infrastructure teams.
  • Strong scripting/automation skills using PowerShell, PowerShell DSC, Python or equivalent .

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications such as AZ-800/AZ-801, MD-102 or equivalent .
  • VMware VCP certification.
  • ServiceNow / ITSM experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender, BitLocker and endpoint security baselines.
  • Knowledge of SCCM/Intune co-management.
  • Experience with VMware capacity management and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Experience with L3 Troubleshooting, Global Operations, Team Mentoring, VMware ESXi/vCenter, Autopilot
