Senior Software Engineering Manager, AI Monetization Experiences

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience with full stack development across back-end such as Java, Python, Go, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, or equivalent.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications

• 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Experience leading engineering for consumer subscription, commerce, or payments products, in areas like pricing, bundling, entitlements, billing, or business share.
• Experience building consumer purchase or growth funnels on Web, Android, and iOS.
• Experience architecting reusable platforms or shared UI component systems used by multiple products or surfaces.
• Experience with usage-based or AI business generation models, like credits, metering, or consumption-based billing.
• Experience working across multiple organizations and interacting with cross-functional, cross-product, and external stakeholders.

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead an organization of 25+ engineers through engineering managers and tech leads. Your work will directly shape how millions of people experience and pay for Google AI, and will drive subscriber and business growth for Google.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $262000 - $364000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Lead the AI Purchase Experience and AI Commerce teams, and hire, develop, and retain engineering talent to build a high-performing culture.
• Set the goal, strategy, and roadmap to grow consumer AI subscriptions across Google products.
• Lead the building of purchase journeys that let people buy Google AI subscriptions using unified, reusable components on Web, Android, and iOS.
• Keep business-critical commerce systems reliable, secure, privacy-safe, correct in billing and entitlements, and compliant with regional regulations at a global scale.
• Partner with Product Management, UX, Payments, Finance, and other teams across Google to align roadmaps and deliver shared business generation goals.
