Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics.
- 4 years of experience in SQL and Data Visualization (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or similar technologies).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in philanthropy or social impact operations and cross-functional data ecosystems.
- Experience designing data elements, structures, and schemas for longitudinal tracking and impact reporting.
- Experience building reproducible ETL pipelines and calculating impact metrics using SQL and scripting languages.
- Experience with data validation, profiling, and root-cause analysis using Business Intelligence tools and dashboards.
- Experience communicating technical, statistical, or evaluative details with engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

The Google. org Tech for Social Impact (TSI) team accelerates social impact through technology by providing data infrastructure and tools to nonprofits and civic entities. We unify Google.
org’s global giving data into a single source of truth, building standardized models and implementing robust metrics to empower leadership to track and maximize our philanthropic impact.
In this role, you will deliver end-to-end business intelligence projects aligned with Google. org’s Research and Evaluation Strategy. Using your expertise in SQL, data modeling, and BI tools, you will design scalable data structures and maintain ETL pipelines to unify funding records with research findings.
You will manage ambiguous problems, such as operationalizing counterfactual models, and enhance our BI infrastructure. Ultimately, you will translate complex impact metrics into clear, actionable dashboards that enable teams and leadership to measure program performance.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $116000 - $166000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Deliver full pieces of Business Intelligence (BI) work integrated into Google.org’s measurement strategy with minimal assistance, exploring the “why” of problems beyond the surface-level ask.
- Design data structures, relational schemas, and data models (across business intelligence platform, CRM tooling, and Google.org's harmonized data infrastructure) to store, link, and retrieve longitudinal funding and other data.
- Calculate and automate moderately complex impact metrics for all Google.org’s annual and program-specific reporting initiatives using standardized models, external benchmarks, and counterfactual assumptions.
- Operationalize pillar metric calculations across Google.org pillar areas including Knowledge, Skills and Learning (KSL), Scientific Progress (SP), Stronger Communities (SC), and Global Programs (GP).
- Review, validate, and profile incoming data to diagnose reporting anomalies, maintain related ETL pipelines, and land self-service BI dashboards.
