Financial Controller - Africa Region

Our African Key Account Management team has been growing at a rapid pace as we expand our offerings in the region and more countries regulate iGaming.

As the scale of our operations increases, we are looking to develop the Finance Function by enhancing the support we provide local management and move finance functions that were previously handled by central teams outside of Africa to the Finance staff based in the local office.

We are seeking a Financial Controller to take over these functions which include:

• Being responsible for performance monitoring of the African KAM team, particularly in the analysis of revenue and direct promotion costs trends and the monitoring of progress against targets
• Act as an interface between the global billing teams and the local account managers
• Support the local CEO in managing costs for the African operations, including managing the forecasting and budgeting cycle
• Providing analysis to central financial controlling teams, and linking up with them in order to obtain insight into contracts that are not managed by the local teams
• Liaising with local outsourced accounting and payroll organisations in South Africa and other African countries, taking responsibility for their output.
• Provide timely and accurate regulatory reporting to various authorities (including BBBEEE and Central Bank Reporting in South Africa) and support compliance teams where necessary with financial information
• Assisting in ad-hoc analysis and projects, including work related to setting up operations in new African countries.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Experience in analysis, budgeting and reporting is essential.
• Hold a CPA, CFA, CMA or similar accounting qualification.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, as other finance team members will be located in other countries.

The appointment is subject to a three months’ probation period, which the company reserves the right to increase to six months should it deem it necessary. During this period, you will be required to travel to both Malta and Latvia for the requisite training in order to be sufficiently upskilled to fully remit your duties. Should you successfully pass the probation your salary may be increased.
