ABOUT US

Davis Technology Management is a successful technology company in the IT staffing, Technology Consulting and IT Managed Services sector. Our focus is crafting technical and staffing solutions that empower businesses and foster growth.

Our foundation is built on a commitment to our Core Values, and a team dedicated to bridging the gap between innovative IT solutions and businesses seeking to navigate the complexities of the digital age.

At the heart of everything we do, we’re dedicated to exceeding expectations and creating RAVING FANS both within our internal team and amongst our clients.

Tech Systems Specialist

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced IT professional who can handle technical issues beyond standard help desk support. This position will work across corporate offices and plant locations, taking ownership of complex user issues, endpoint operations, access management, and technology deployments.

The right person will be comfortable working independently, digging into difficult technical problems, and partnering with infrastructure and security teams when issues require deeper investigation. This role will also help ensure work completed by external support partners meets internal service and documentation standards.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated desktop, system, application, identity, and connectivity issues that cannot be resolved through frontline support.
  • Support Microsoft 365, Windows environments, Entra ID/Active Directory, Intune, VPN connectivity, and commonly used business applications.
  • Investigate recurring technical problems, determine root causes, and implement long-term fixes instead of temporary workarounds.
  • Manage company laptops and other endpoint devices from initial setup through replacement or retirement.
  • Prepare, configure, enroll, ship, track, recover, and decommission equipment for employees across multiple locations.
  • Support Intune and Autopilot deployments while verifying devices meet company configuration and security requirements.
  • Manage employee access changes associated with new hires, transfers, role changes, and terminations.
  • Review support tickets and technical work completed by service partners to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and SLA expectations are being met.
  • Develop and update internal IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, knowledge articles, and technical documentation.
  • Work alongside Security on endpoint vulnerabilities, phishing incidents, patching, device remediation, and other security-related events.
  • Identify patterns in support issues and recommend improvements that reduce repeat incidents and improve the employee experience.
  • Partner with Systems, Network, and Security teams on technical escalations, infrastructure changes, deployments, and projects.
  • Provide professional technical support to executives and other high-priority users when needed.
  • Participate in an after-hours support rotation for critical incidents.
  • Travel periodically to company offices and plant locations for deployments, troubleshooting, and other hands-on technical work.

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 3–5 years of progressive experience in desktop support, IT operations, systems support, or endpoint administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to handle issues beyond basic Tier 1 support.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 and supporting Entra ID/Azure AD environments.
  • Experience managing Windows 10/11 devices through Microsoft Intune or a comparable endpoint management platform.
  • Understanding of Active Directory, user permissions, authentication, and access management.
  • Familiarity with device provisioning, imaging, deployment, inventory, and hardware replacement processes.
  • Experience working within an IT ticketing platform such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, or a similar system.
  • General understanding of endpoint security, patch management, device compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities without requiring constant direction.
  • Strong communication skills when working with both technical teams and non-technical employees.
  • Associate degree, bachelor's degree, technical training, or equivalent professional IT experience.
  • Ability to travel and participate in an on-call rotation.

Nice to Have

Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:

  • Microsoft Autopilot
  • PowerShell
  • macOS and mobile device support
  • ITIL-based service management
  • IT service providers or outsourced support environments
  • Industrial, manufacturing, energy, or plant environments
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
  • Microsoft endpoint or Microsoft 365 certifications
  • ITIL 4 Foundation

What Success Looks Like

Someone successful in this position takes ownership instead of simply passing tickets along. They can troubleshoot difficult problems, know when an issue needs to be escalated, keep endpoint and asset operations organized, and communicate clearly with employees, vendors, and other technical teams
