This is a 12-week internship during summer 2027.
Join the Tax team within Finance as a Tax Operations Intern and contribute to Coinbase's tax provisioning, financial reporting, and compliance processes. This team ensures Coinbase meets its tax obligations across all operating jurisdictions, providing accurate tax accounting in financial statements and supporting an optimal tax structure.
You'll work directly with the Tax Controller and gain hands-on experience with balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls, and audit support in a high-growth crypto environment.
What you'll do
- Own key tax provisioning and financial reporting tasks, including balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requests within your areas of responsibility
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures across all assigned tax controllership processes
- Build and update process documentation for all recurring tasks to ensure continuity and accuracy
- Execute ad hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned by the Tax Controller
Required Skills and Experience:
- Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities through coursework or prior internship experience
- Familiarity with US GAAP concepts (IFRS knowledge a plus)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work in a fast-moving environment
- Interest in digital assets and the crypto economy, with willingness to develop domain expertise
- Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality

Hourly Rate:
$40 — $40 USD
