Team Leader - Engine Management Services

Description

Join CAE as a Team Leader - Engine Management Services in Shannon, Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team supporting engine management projects and technical services activities within a dynamic aviation environment.

Reporting to the Engine Management Services Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating departmental activities, leading project execution, supporting team development, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. This permanent position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with approximately two to three days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operational management of the assigned Engine Management Services team.
  • Support employee development through regular one-to-one meetings, coaching, mentoring, and career development discussions.
  • Manage team workload, resource allocation, and leave planning.
  • Assign projects and coordinate resources to support business priorities.
  • Lead engine-related projects and contribute as a key member of project teams.
  • Oversee projects assigned to team members, ensuring delivery against scope, quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and implement appropriate actions to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support the continuous improvement of departmental processes, procedures, and ways of working.
  • Partner with department leadership to support performance management and team development initiatives.
  • Apply industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout project execution.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Business Development teams to support customer retention and growth opportunities.
  • Assist the Engine Management Services Operations Manager and Head of Engines in developing departmental capabilities and achieving business objectives.
  • Support a culture of collaboration, customer focus, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of relevant aviation industry experience.
  • Experience within engine maintenance, engine management, technical services, or a closely related aviation discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of aviation regulations and industry practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, tasks, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to support, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites and business locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation, Aerospace, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Previous people management, supervisory, or team leadership experience.
  • Technical records review experience within an aviation environment.
  • Experience managing aviation projects involving engine maintenance or technical services.
  • Experience developing operational procedures and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of engine maintenance planning, engine management programmes, or airline technical operations.
  • Experience supporting customer relationship management and business growth initiatives.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching experience.
