Description
The I. T Technologist supports the creation, organization, and maintenance of SharePoint environments used across programs and related initiatives. This role helps ensure that information is structured, searchable, accessible, and governed throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties & Responsibilities
SharePoint Content Management
- Maintain SharePoint Online and SharePoint On-Premises sites, pages, document libraries, and lists
- Upload, organize, classify, and archive project documentation
- Establish and maintain folder structures, metadata, taxonomies, and content types
- Apply document naming conventions and records management practices
- Ensure content remains accurate, current, and aligned with program requirements
- Monitor document versioning and retention policies
Site Administration & Maintenance
- Support the configuration and administration of SharePoint Online sites
- Create and maintain site pages, navigation structures, news posts, and communication content
- Manage user permissions and access requests in accordance with organizational policies
- Support integrations with Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft 365 services
- Monitor site usage and recommend improvements to usability and user experience
Information Governance
- Maintain metadata standards to improve content discoverability and search effectiveness
- Support document lifecycle management processes
- Ensure compliance with organizational document management policies and procedures
- Assist with audit and accreditation activities requiring document traceability and control
User Support & Training
- Serve as a primary contact for SharePoint content-related inquiries
- Develop user guides, quick-reference materials, and training documentation
- Deliver onboarding and content management training sessions
- Support users in locating information and following established content management practices
- Promote SharePoint content management best practices across project teams
Collaboration & Communications
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify content management requirements
- Coordinate updates to project sites, dashboards, and collaboration spaces
- Support program communications through SharePoint announcements and news features
- Partner with business analysts, architects, and project teams to capture and publish knowledge assets
- Facilitate information sharing across geographically distributed teams
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track content quality metrics and site utilization
- Identify duplicate, outdated, or inactive content
- Recommend improvements to content management processes and tools
- Support Power Automate workflows related to document approvals and content lifecycle management
- Participate in continuous improvement and lessons learned activities
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management, Business Technology Management, Library and Information Science, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of experience supporting SharePoint Online and/or Microsoft 365 environments.
- Experience with document repositories, records management, document control, or content administration.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and content streams simultaneously.
- Customer-focused approach with strong stakeholder support skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Strong collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be eligible to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting project teams, project management offices, or business operations.
- Experience with metadata management, taxonomy development, and information governance practices.
- Experience supporting Power Automate workflows or Microsoft 365 automation tools.
- Experience within defence, aerospace, training, government, or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience supporting knowledge management or enterprise collaboration initiatives.

Base Pay Range
Our total rewards package includes base pay and benefits, with final compensation determined by experience, skill, location, and internal equity.
$60,100 - $90,100 CAD
