Job description

About this role

Overview

At Brooklinen, we believe great data helps us make better decisions and create better experiences for our customers. As an Analytics Engineer on our Analytics & Insights team, you’ll help build the foundation that makes that possible.

Reporting to our Senior Manager, Analytics Engineering, you’ll turn complex data into reliable, well-organized datasets that teams across Brooklinen can easily access, understand, and use. You’ll work closely with partners across the business to bring data together, improve how we measure performance, and make information more useful in our everyday work.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, cares about getting the details right, and likes making complex information easier for others to understand.

What You'll Do

  • Build reliable data models. Develop and maintain efficient, accurate SQL models that make reporting and analysis easier across the business.
  • Turn business needs into data solutions. Partner with analysts, engineers, and teams across Brooklinen to build data models, dashboards, and measurement tools that answer important business questions.
  • Get to know the business. Build a strong understanding of our Marketing team's data needs, then expand your work across other functions to identify opportunities where better data can make a difference.
  • Make data easier to use. Ingest, organize, catalog, and document datasets so teams can confidently find, understand, and use the information they need.
  • Solve problems from start to finish. Investigate data issues, identify what's causing them, and communicate findings and solutions clearly to technical and non-technical partners.

We're Looking for Someone Who Brings

  • 2–4 years of experience in analytics engineering or a similar role, with hands-on experience building and maintaining data models.
  • Strong SQL skills, preferably with experience using dbt or similar data modeling tools.
  • Experience building dashboards and reporting solutions in a BI tool like Omni, Looker, or something similar.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience working with marketing data in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods is a plus.

Benefits & Perks

Great work deserves great support. From taking care of yourself and the people you love to making time for what matters outside of work, our benefits are here to support you through the different stages of life and career.

  • Health Coverage: Up to 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees.
  • Family-building support: Up to $20,000 in reimbursement for fertility and family-building journeys.
  • Retirement savings: A 401(k) plan with a 4% company match.
  • Commuter benefits: Pre-tax benefits to help cover travel costs.
  • Product perks: 40% off Brooklinen products, 25% off for friends and family, and a product allowance.
  • Wellness support: Complimentary One Medical and Talkspace memberships, plus a flexible $1,000 annual wellness and lifestyle reimbursement through Joon.
  • Pet benefits: 10% off pet wellness and insurance plans through Wagmo, helping cover everything from routine care to unexpected vet expenses.
  • Parental leave: 16 weeks of fully paid leave for all new parents.
  • Time to recharge: 20 vacation days per year to start, increasing to 25 after five years; year-round Friday closings at 3 PM; and a fully paid, one-month sabbatical at your five- and ten-year anniversaries.
  • Work flexibility: A hybrid schedule, company-wide remote work during Thanksgiving week and the final two weeks of the year, and up to four additional remote weeks with manager approval.
