Software Test Engineer

We are currently looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our team.

As a Software Test Engineer, you will work on defining, automating and executing comprehensive test strategies for next-generation embedded devices and connected systems . You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design robust test automation frameworks, maintain hardware-in-the-loop and software test benches and ensure high quality and reliability across software releases.

In your role you will

• Define, plan and implement test specifications and test cases for embedded software
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and test suites using modern automation frameworks
• Set up, configure and maintain hardware test benches, virtualized environments and test infrastructure
• Integrate automated tests into continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Execute test runs, analyze logs/reports, isolate defects and document findings clearly
• Work with network communication protocols to test end-to-end connectivity and device functionality
• Collaborate in an Agile environment (Scrum) to support testing and quality improvements.

• CI/CD & Tools: Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Postman, Bruno
• Networking & Protocols: TCP/IP, VLAN, Wi-Fi, GPS, GSM, LTE
• Test Infrastructure: Hardware Test Benches, Embedded Test Setups
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Automation, Electronics and Telecommunications, Informatics or comparable
• Proven experience in embedded software testing (test design, strategy definition, and execution)
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash/Shell)
• Practical experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Robot Framework)
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and command-line administration
• Understanding of hardware test setups and test infrastructure
• Familiarity with network protocols and wireless communication (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Cellular/LTE, GPS)
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams
• Strong problem-solving mindset, proactive attitude and ability to take ownership of tasks
• Good English language skills (both written and spoken)

Nice to have:

• Experience with containerization and virtualization tools (Docker, Vagrant)
• API testing experience using Postman or Bruno
• ISTQB certification (e.g., Certified Tester / Test Automation Engineer)
• German language is an advantage
