Job description

About this role

Build the people side of a company that’s growing fast.

At zizzl health, we make health insurance simpler for employers and their employees, and we’re growing. As our HR Generalist, you’ll be the person who makes every new hire’s first day great, keeps our hiring moving, and gives employees and managers a fast, friendly answer when they have a question.

You’ll work directly with our VP of Corporate Services, who is also our in-house counsel, so you’ll learn how HR, compliance, and the business fit together.

What you’ll do

  • Run recruiting from first posting to signed offer. You’ll own job postings, our recruiting tracker, screening, interview scheduling, and a great candidate experience across a busy year of hiring.
  • Build early-career pipelines through university partnerships and career fairs.
  • Lead seasonal hiring campaigns, including our Open Enrollment season, working with staffing agency partners.
  • Own onboarding and offboarding so every person’s first and last days reflect who we are.
  • Administer leaves of absence and employee changes and keep records accurate with our Finance team.
  • Report on the numbers that matter, such as time to fill, pipeline health, turnover, and training completion.
  • Support manager development, from scheduling and materials to follow-through, as we build our next generation of people leaders.

What you bring

  • A bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of HR experience, with hands-on recruiting and onboarding
  • Comfort with Excel and HR systems, and a habit of getting the details right
  • Discretion with sensitive information, and the ability to build trust with people at every level
  • A working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • A plus:

SHRM-CP or PHR, campus recruiting experience, or UKG experience

Who thrives here

We hire for heart first. If you’re warm, dependable, upbeat, and curious, and you’ll jump in wherever the team needs you, you’ll fit right in. Our values are Authentic Hospitality, Dependable Excellence, Optimistic Energy, and Thoughtful Curiosity.

What we offer

  • Our Campfire culture: a team built on hospitality, honest conversation, and looking out for each other
  • Amazing health insurance options
  • 401(k) match
  • A flexible work-from-home day after your first year
  • A downtown Milwaukee office
