About this role

About the Role

At Yerushalmi Law Firm, the Pre-Litigation Attorney is the legal backbone of our pre-lit operation. You’ll own statute of limitations monitoring, lead insurance negotiations, and provide direct oversight of one to two case management teams. This is a full-time, in-office role for an attorney who is organized, confident under pressure, and serious about results.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Your day starts with a scan of your teams’ case activity and any open SOL flags. Throughout the day, you’re reviewing demand packets, negotiating with adjusters, sitting in on team rounds, and keeping your Case Managers unblocked. You’ll partner closely with the Pre-Lit Supervisor and the Demands Department to make sure cases are moving and nothing is falling through the cracks.

Responsibilities

  • Statute of Limitations ● Monitor SOLs across all assigned cases — flag at-risk matters immediately. ● Audit Filevine regularly to confirm deadline integrity on your teams. ● Coordinate with the Litigation Department when a case needs to transition.
  • Negotiations ● Lead settlement negotiations with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel. ● Approve demand packets prior to submission; partner with the Demands Department on quality and timing. ● Drive favorable outcomes on high-value and policy-limit cases.
  • Team Oversight ● Oversee 1–2 assigned pre-litigation case management teams. ● Set legal strategy at key inflection points — RFD, demand readiness, and policy-limit reviews. ● Mentor Case Managers and Case Manager Assistants on demand strategy and negotiation. ● Participate in team meetings and provide direct, specific feedback.
  • General ● Coordinate with Demands, Liens, Medical Records, and Property Damage as needed. ● Maintain an active California Bar license in good standing at all times. ● Keep all case updates current in Filevine. ● Comply with California Rules of Professional Conduct, HIPAA standards, and firm cybersecurity protocols.
  • What We’re Looking For ● Active California Bar license in good standing (required). ● Minimum 2 years of personal injury pre-litigation experience — demands, negotiations, and policy-limit cases. ● Strong organizational skills and the ability to track deadlines across a high volume of cases. ● Comfortable reading medical records, treatment timelines, and damages models. ● Clear communicator who can lead and develop case management staff. ● Filevine experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • What Good Looks Like in This Role ● SOLs tracked and current — no missed deadlines, ever. ● Negotiations handled proactively and settled at or near policy limits where the case supports it. ● Demand packets reviewed and approved on schedule. ● Case Managers on your teams are unblocked and hitting their KPIs. ● Filevine is accurate on every case you touch.
  • Benefits ● Paid time off and paid sick time ● Health, dental, and vision insurance ● 401(k) retirement plan ● Free parking ● Performance-based bonus (details provided during the offer process) ● Career growth — we promote from within ● Company parties and in-office events Schedule & Pay Full-time, Monday – Friday.
  • Core hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
  • Pay range: $135,000 – $250,000 annually, based on experience.
