About this role
Company Summary Since its foundation in 1935, Hörmann has produced and delivered more than 20 million doors worldwide. Over 6,000 employees work in 40 specialized factories in Europe, North America and Asia to develop and produce high-quality doors, frames and operators, as well as perimeter protection and storage space systems, for use in private and commercial properties.
The headquarters of the globally active Hörmann Group is located in the East Westphalian municipality of Steinhagen, near Bielefeld, Germany. The North American headquarters are located in Sparta, Tennessee. This family business, now run by the fourth generation, recently recorded an annual turnover of more than 1 billion dollars.
Core responsibilities Translate approved processes into common enterprise core, manufacturing archetypes, and controlled plant deltas; justify exceptions by value, cost, and support impact. Assess migration approaches against the existing HNP environment, HGP dependencies and mandatory sales-area work; keep Frontier/Puyallup separately sequenced within the architecture.
Define solution boundaries across S/4HANA, MES, CAMOS/configuration, automation and reporting with domain architects and the Enterprise SCM solution owner. Align BOMs, routings, work centers, production versions, lead times, capacity, execution and costing; validate realistic planning scenarios before detailed build.
Resolve packaging placement across product data, operations, instructions, configuration, MES, packing specifications and Handling Units with engineering and SCM owners. Require named functional coverage for quality, maintenance and engineering changes; include traceability, nonconformance, downtime and relevant service/returns handoffs.
Evaluate capabilities against business fit, target release, licensing, skills and lifecycle cost; retain decisions and support extension standards internally. Approve technical design within delegated authority; assemble data, interface, test and support evidence for gates while business owners approve processes and business acceptance.
Required experience and qualifications 12+ years in SAP manufacturing architecture or multi-site manufacturing transformation, including S/4HANA solution delivery. Strong practical understanding of planning, execution, engineering data, logistics, and manufacturing costing across different production models.
Experience governing ERP/MES/configuration integration, migration into an established landscape and partner-delivered solutions. Ability to demonstrate business improvements, explain trade-offs and challenge legacy replication without assuming every module requires an internal specialist. Ability to travel up to 25%, mainly domestically, with some international travel to Canada and/or Europe.
