System Engineer Level 2 (SE2) – Dataflow

Wyetech is seeking a System Engineer Level 2 (SE2) to support mission-critical operational systems and dataflow activities.
The Systems Engineer will support the monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of data flows to and from collection systems while helping ensure operational mission systems continue to deliver accurate and properly formatted DNI and DNR data to analysts and other stakeholders throughout the enterprise.
The successful candidate will work directly with corporate dataflow teams, capabilities teams, and mission partners to maintain backend processing operations, support system deployments and upgrades, troubleshoot dataflow anomalies, and maintain awareness of operational collection capabilities.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience supporting dataflow operations, including monitoring data received from collection segments and optimizing data flows to and from collection systems.
- Experience reviewing collected data for accuracy and proper formatting.
- Experience reviewing historical dataflow statistics and proactively identifying and troubleshooting anomalies.
- Experience supporting backend processing operations and associated corporate requirements.
- Experience supporting the deployment, upgrade, and decommissioning of operational systems.
- Experience supporting the delivery and processing of DNI and DNR data from operational systems to analysts, stakeholders, and mission partners.
- Experience analyzing dataflow reports and statistics to assess and maintain the health of operational mission systems and collection capabilities.
- Ability to maintain working knowledge of operational mission systems and their associated data flows.
- Dataflow experience using NiFi (NiagaraFiles).
- Experience analyzing user requirements, concepts of operations, and high-level system architectures.
- Experience developing and managing system and derived requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with technical teams, mission partners, stakeholders, and Government customers.
Responsibilities:
- Support dataflow operations, including monitoring system data received from the collection segment (CS).
- Perform scripting and other activities to optimize data flows to and from collection systems.
- Review collected data for accuracy and formatting.
- Review historical system dataflow statistics and proactively troubleshoot anomalies to maintain efficient operations.
- Interface directly with corporate dataflow teams to maintain backend processing operations and support corporate requirements.
- Provide dataflow support to capabilities teams during the deployment, upgrade, and decommissioning of operational systems.
- Support ongoing efforts to deliver DNI and DNR from tasked systems in the field to analysts, stakeholders, and mission partners throughout the enterprise.
- Analyze dataflow-related reports and statistics to maintain a current assessment of operational mission system health and collection capabilities.
- Maintain working knowledge of operational mission systems to support backend processing and proper data storage.
Capabilities:
- Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems compatible with defined system architectures, including Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Contribute to systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
- Assist with developing system and functional requirements and allocating requirements to hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
- Coordinate resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-discipline coordination.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on development and operational considerations.
- Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets to systems and subsystem components.
- Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
- Define methods, processes, and evaluation criteria used to verify systems, subsystems, and work products against established requirements.
- Develop system design solutions that satisfy system requirements and functional analyses.
- Review and provide input to program and contract Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), work packages, and Integrated Master Plans (IMP).
- Participate in interface definition, design, and configuration changes throughout the system lifecycle.
- Derive stakeholder needs and essential system functions from established system requirements.
- Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements and ensure requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable.
- Participate in establishing and gaining approval of system and component definitions, including requirements, designs, interfaces, and test procedures.
- Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services, including confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, and availability.
- Develop requirements supporting Information Assurance mechanisms, including identification, authentication, access control, accountability, passwords, cryptography, hashing, and key management.
- Implement comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
- Implement operational, technical standards, systems, and services architecture views using applicable DoDAF standards.
- Review and/or approve systems engineering documentation to ensure processes and specifications are accurate, comprehensive, complete, and aligned with system needs.
- Capture interface designs in a common interface control format and maintain interface data in an accessible repository.
- Assess program risks and determine probability of occurrence and consequences of failure in accordance with approved risk management plans.
- Plan verification efforts for new and unproven designs to ensure compliance with established requirements.
- Prepare timeline analysis diagrams illustrating the flow of time-dependent functions.
- Establish and support formal requirements change-management processes, including impact assessment, stakeholder coordination, traceability, and resolution of open actions.
- Manage and maintain the technical integrity of system baselines throughout development, deployment, operations, and maintenance.
- Support planning and test analysis associated with applicable DoD and Government Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.
- Support development and review of Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) documentation.
- Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
- Support requirements elicitation, analysis, functional allocation, systems requirements reviews, concepts of operation, interface standards, system architectures, and end-to-end flow analysis.
- Develop operational scenarios describing interactions between the system, users, and operational environment.
- Conduct quantitative analysis of non-functional system performance areas, including reliability, maintainability, vulnerability, survivability, and producibility.
- Coordinate system integration activities among multiple teams to ensure complete coverage of system interfaces.
Qualifications:
- Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
- Dataflow experience using NiFi (NiagaraFiles) is required.
- Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Salary Range: $45. 61 - $119. 86 USD Hourly
- Hourly pay rates listed for this position serve as a general guideline and are not a guarantee of compensation. Compensation will vary dependent upon factors including but not limited to: Government contract rates; education; relevant prior work experience, knowledge, skills, and competencies; certifications, and geographic location. Hourly pay rates reflect the pre-benefit gross wage amounts.
