Here’s the Gist

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on the challenging role of Quality Systems Engineer. This role will be filled located onsite at either of our Wolfspeed manufacturing sites in Durham, NC or Marcy, NY.

This person will be responsible for supporting all aspects of our quality management system including managing the administration of the software used to organize and structure the QMS core processes. This individual will also be responsible for global quality auditing and ensure setup and compliance to IATF and AS9100 standards.

The individual will also work together with IT specialists and quality engineering to improve the QMS in areas such as customer requirements management, customer requests, documentation and specification management, etc. The role will interact significantly with product and processs engineers, thus a background in semiconductor manufacturing is strongly preferred.

To be successful in this role, the person will collaborate with internal teams within Quality and Operations organizations.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Interface with facotry and quality engineers on QMS business process setup and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross functional teams to ensure compliance to the QA standards with improvement for easy of use.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Quality engineering to ensure internal audits comply with standards and training for QMS core tools and proficiency in the organization.
  • Supervise technicians administering document control and customer specific requirements.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key internal stakeholders including the factory and business unit leadership.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications):

  • BS in Engineer, Physics, Chemistry, or related degree.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge and experience managing QMS to the following standards: IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO9001
  • Experience with QMS software tool administration.
  • Certified auditor to the above standards
  • Knowledge of quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.
  • The ability to operate in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment and to execute at both a detailed level as well as a strategic level.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Expertise in quality core tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC)
  • Works independently, self-motivated, takes ownership and accountability for process deadlines.
  • Ability to work in large, complex, global environment, in a fast-paced environment, and remains flexible to support changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing engineering databases and SQL to develop and deploy PowerBI reports focused on supporting day-to-day business operations as well as key process effectiveness indicator
  • Experience deploying python and/ or streamlit reporting applications This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
