About this role

About WhiteRecon Logistics

WhiteRecon Logistics is a veteran-owned delivery company based in Port Wentworth, Georgia. We deliver packages across the Greater Savannah area as an Amazon Delivery Service Partner. We run 45 to 50 routes a day, 7 days a week, and more than 90 a day during peak season.

We take care of our people. Drivers who finish early and meet our safety and quality standards are paid for their full 10-hour shift. We serve team meals based on weekly scorecard results and hold a company party every year.

We hire for year-round work and we do not let people go for lack of work.

The Role

The Director of Operations runs the day-to-day business. You own safety, quality, staffing, and cost for every route we put on the road. You lead the operations team and you are the main point of contact with station leadership.

You work directly with the owner on goals, budget, and growth.

This is a hands-on leadership job. You will be at the station for load-out, in the office with the numbers, and on the phone when a route goes wrong.

What you will do

Daily operations

  • Own route execution every day, from morning load-out until the last van is back.
  • Staff every route across 8 shift groups that cover all 7 days.
  • Plan drivers, vans, and leadership coverage ahead of volume changes and peak season.
  • Manage call-outs, rescues, and late routes so packages are delivered on time.

Safety and quality

  • Own the weekly scorecard. Review safety, quality, and delivery results and act on them.
  • Coach drivers and leaders on the specific behaviors behind the numbers.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and customer issues. Fix the cause and document it.
  • Respond to station and program issues with facts and evidence, and dispute them when we are in the right.

People

  • Lead, train, and hold accountable the dispatchers and leaders who report to you.
  • Own the driver hiring pipeline.
  • Run onboarding and training so new drivers are safe and productive in their first weeks.
  • Reduce turnover. Know why drivers leave and what keeps them.
  • Enforce attendance and timekeeping policies fairly and consistently.

Fleet and business

  • Keep the fleet road-ready. Manage inspections, maintenance, repairs, and damage.
  • Control labor hours and overtime against the plan.
  • Keep the company in compliance with wage and hour rules and program requirements.
  • Report results to the owner each week with numbers, causes, and next steps.

What you bring

Required

  • 5 or more years leading operations, including at least 2 years managing other managers or a team of 50 or more.
  • Experience in last-mile delivery, logistics, transportation, or a similar high-volume, 7-day operation.
  • A record of hitting safety and quality targets, with numbers to show it.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and handling corrective action.
  • Comfort with data. You can read a scorecard, build a spreadsheet, and find the cause behind a number.
  • Direct, calm communication with drivers, leaders, and station staff.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Availability on weekends, holidays, and through peak season.

Preferred

  • Experience with an Amazon Delivery Service Partner or in an Amazon delivery station.
  • Military leadership experience.
  • Experience with fleet management, payroll, and applicant tracking systems.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Schedule and location

This position is on-site in Port Wentworth, GA, at our office and the delivery station. We operate 7 days a week. The schedule is 5 days a week on-site and includes some weekends and holidays.

You are the escalation point when something goes wrong on the road. Time off is limited from October through December.

Compensation and benefits

  • Starting pay: $80,000 to $90,000 per year
  • Bonus: paid based on weekly scorecard results
  • Health benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance
