Westminster Towers is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Our employees are central to the care, service, and hospitality we provide to residents every day. We are committed to a supportive workplace where team members feel valued, respected, and empowered to make a difference.
Join a Team That Serves with Purpose
We are seeking an experienced, approachable, and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead HR operations, strengthen employee engagement, support department leaders, and help foster a positive workplace culture.
This leader will balance strategic priorities with the day-to-day needs of employees and managers while ensuring compliance with federal and state employment and workforce requirements, including those applicable to senior living and long-term care.
What You’ll Do
· Lead full-cycle recruiting, hiring, onboarding, orientation, offboarding, workforce planning, and retention initiatives.
· Serve as a trusted resource to employees and department leaders; coach managers, address workplace concerns, conduct appropriate investigations, and support fair performance management and corrective action.
· Oversee employee benefits, COBRA administration, HR records, payroll coordination, and compensation surveys.
· Maintain HR policies, job descriptions, employee handbook information, and required documentation.
· Coordinate workers’ compensation, employee safety, mandatory training, and applicable regulatory reporting.
· Support compliance with employment laws and healthcare-related workforce requirements, including licensure monitoring, privacy, and resident rights.
· Oversee a consistent facility-wide pre-employment clearance program for all new hires, including background and registry checks, role-specific credential verification, and two-step PPD tuberculosis screening with follow-up tracking, in partnership with infection prevention.
· Partner with leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, employee recognition, engagement, workplace culture, and leadership development.
What You Bring
· Minimum of five (5) years of progressive human resources experience required; experience in a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), senior living, long-term care, or healthcare setting preferred.
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
· Working knowledge of employment laws, benefits administration, compensation, recruitment, and employee relations; prior HR leadership or management experience strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on HR execution; strong employee relations, coaching, conflict resolution, communication, judgment, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
· Comfort with Microsoft Office and HR/payroll systems.
· Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and mandatory workforce requirements applicable to nursing and long-term care facilities, including pre-employment screening, work eligibility, background and registry checks, licensure verification, required training, and ongoing compliance obligations.
· Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) preferred.
