About this role

Choose Us. Choose You.

At Western Veterinary Partners (WVP), we believe people are our greatest asset. We are a people-centric veterinary support organization focused on supporting veterinary practices and the professionals who care for pets and their families every day.

WVP is a private equity backed company that acquires, invests in, and supports veterinary practices and animal hospitals. Through non-clinical business support services, we help our partner practices grow while allowing their teams to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

We are expanding our team and seeking a Financial Analyst with 2+ years of relevant experience to support our financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function. This individual will contribute to financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting while helping translate financial and operational data into insights that support business decisions.

The successful candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach. This is an opportunity to build FP&A expertise and work closely with finance, field, and corporate teams in a fast-paced, growing organization. This is a hybrid role based in central Denver, with two days in office per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and analyses to evaluate performance, provide business insights, identify opportunities, and support decision-making.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, investigate variances, and help explain the underlying drivers of business results.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and support actions that improve performance.
  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting cycles by gathering inputs, updating financial models, and validating assumptions and data.
  • Maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators that provide visibility into revenue, expenses, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Help identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, data quality, and tools to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform ad hoc financial and operational analyses and support special projects as needed.
  • Summarize findings clearly and assist in preparing presentations for finance, field, and corporate leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or a related financial analysis role.
  • Experience preparing financial analyses and reports, with exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial modeling.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and the business drivers of revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, and working with large data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, ask thoughtful questions, and incorporate feedback.
  • High degree of integrity and discretion when handling confidential business information.
  • Proactive approach and a willingness to learn and develop within the FP&A function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a multi-site, healthcare, veterinary services, or private equity backed organization.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, or similar reporting and data analysis tools.
  • Exposure to financial planning software or ERP systems.
  • Experience combining and validating data from multiple sources.

Application Window

The application window is anticipated to close on November 5, 2026. This opportunity may close earlier or remain open longer based on business needs.

This role is not open to agency candidates. Unsolicited agency submissions will not be accepted, and contingent placement fees will not be honored.
