About this role
About the Role
We are actively seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineer (Commissioning Lead) on behalf of our client. In this role, you will be the go-to person for making sure critical building systems are tested, validated, and running smoothly from start to finish.
If you love being out in the field, solving complex technical puzzles, and have a deep understanding of building systems, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
You will act as the main bridge between owners, contractors, and design teams, ensuring everything is installed correctly, works as intended, and meets all safety and quality standards.
What Success Looks Like You will thrive in this environment if you can combine your engineering know-how with practical, hands-on construction experience. We are looking for someone who can confidently lead commissioning activities from the preconstruction phase all the way to the final handover.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Charge: Oversee all commissioning efforts for mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Test & Validate: Develop testing procedures, witness equipment startups, and track down any issues until they are fully resolved.
- Ensure Quality: Perform field inspections to catch constructability or quality concerns before they impact the schedule.
- Collaborate: Work closely with subcontractors, vendors, and project managers to keep everyone on the same page.
- Analyze & Optimize: Review budgets, evaluate system alternatives, and recommend the best solutions for the project.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (or a related field).
- A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems.
- The ability to work on active construction sites and communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- 5-7+ years of experience in commissioning or MEP coordination, especially on commercial projects.
