About this role

Who We Are

VPL is a healthcare logistics technology company that powers the movement of medications and medical supplies across the healthcare ecosystem. Through a centralized platform for shipping, tracking, and analytics, VPL helps pharmacies and supply chain teams improve operational efficiency, gain visibility into performance, and make smarter logistics decisions.

Who We're Looking For

VPL is looking for a Logistics Operations Manager to join our fast-growing team! This is an operationally focused, field-intensive role that sits at the heart of our customer go-live experience.

The Logistics Operations Manager owns the end-to-end operational execution of customer launches — facilitating operational requirements, SLAs, and site workflows — and remains the primary logistics operations point of contact through the first 60 days to ensure performance is tracking and customers are positioned for long-term success.

This person drives the day-to-day operational execution that makes each launch work: establishing and enforcing SOPs, managing logistics performance, overseeing SLA adherence, and ensuring every site is running to standard before handoff.

They act as the connective tissue between customer requirements and logistics execution — translating what customers need into operational reality, then holding the network accountable to delivering it.

This role requires someone who thrives in the field and equally comfortable in a customer meeting; with a strong operational instinct, a bias for structure, and the ability to build the repeatable systems and playbooks that allow VPL to scale efficiently across new customer sites.

What You'll Do

Launch & Go-Live Execution

  • Own the on-the-ground operational execution at go-live — establishing operations, enforcing SLAs, configuring site workflows, and ensuring every operational component is functioning to standard before handoff.
  • Travel onsite during customer launches to ensure technical and operational readiness across all touchpoints; this role requires up to 80% travel.
  • Oversee technical and operational readiness for each launch, including workflows, tracking integrations, and site-level SOP implementation.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners and site staff to ensure all parties understand operational workflows, performance expectations, and escalation paths before go-live.

Operational Coordination & Requirements Relay

  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between customers and logistics partners and site staff during launch and the early post-launch period, translating customer requirements into precise operational instructions and holding all parties accountable to them.
  • Conduct operational discovery with customer stakeholders to map existing workflows, identify constraints, define SLA parameters, and establish success criteria before launch begins.
  • Document and communicate site-specific requirements, SLA parameters, and workflow configurations to ensure consistent execution.
  • Proactively identify operational risks, process gaps, or misalignments between customer expectations and on-the-ground execution, and drive corrective action before they impact performance.

Post-Launch Monitoring & Performance

  • Own operational performance management through the first 60 days post-launch — actively monitoring on-time delivery, SLA compliance, and logistics partner performance against agreed standards.
  • Analyze operational and delivery data to identify performance gaps, manage escalations with logistics partners, and drive rapid resolution to protect customer SLAs.
  • Partner with Account Management to ensure a smooth handoff once operations are stable and performance is consistent.
  • Contribute insights from post-launch monitoring back into implementation processes to improve future launches.

Playbook & Process Development

  • Build repeatable launch playbooks that capture best practices, site configuration templates, and workflow standards to accelerate future rollouts.
  • Document technical setup procedures, operational SOPs, and logistics onboarding steps to build institutional knowledge and accelerate future launches.
  • Embrace continuous improvement methodologies and contribute to the ongoing evolution of VPL's implementation approach.
  • Collaborate with Product, Implementation, and Operations teams to surface gaps in tooling, operational processes, or logistics workflows and advocate for scalable improvements.

What You'll Bring

  • 3–5+ years of experience in logistics operations, supply chain, or a related field — preferably in healthcare, pharmacy, or logistics operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-site operational launches from planning through go-live and early stabilization, with a track record of holding performance to standard.
  • Hands-on experience with operational setup in a logistics or software context — including configuration, SOP development, scanning/tracking systems, and logistics partner onboarding.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple implementations in different phases concurrently, with high attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate between technical, operational, and customer-facing contexts with clarity and confidence.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% to customer locations for launches and post-launch support; comfortable operating in fast-paced, field-level environments.
  • Customer-centric mindset with experience building consultative relationships and managing expectations across multiple stakeholder levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks early and act decisively to keep projects on track.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, Product, and Operations teams.
  • Familiarity with CRM, project management, and logistics software (e.g., Salesforce, Jira, or similar tools) preferred.
