VisionPro is seeking a highly experienced Cable Field Operations Manager with a strong background in Optimum field service operations, technician management, dispatch coordination, and cable industry operating systems.

This is NOT an entry-level management position.

We are looking for someone who has previously worked in a supervisory, management, dispatch leadership, or field operations role within Optimum, Cablevision, or an established cable installation contractor.

The ideal candidate must understand the day-to-day operations of a cable installation business and be able to manage technicians, monitor production, resolve escalations, and work efficiently within CableData, CSG, and related field service systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily cable and fiber installation operations throughout Long Island.
  • Manage field technicians, supervisors, and dispatch coordination.
  • Monitor technician productivity, completed jobs, pending work orders, and daily performance.
  • Utilize CableData, CSG, and applicable Optimum field service systems to review accounts, work orders, technician activity, and operational issues.
  • Coordinate daily routing, scheduling, and technician assignments.
  • Resolve field escalations, failed installations, missed appointments, and service-related issues.
  • Monitor quality control, repeat service calls, and installation compliance.
  • Identify underperforming technicians and implement corrective action.
  • Ensure technicians follow Optimum installation procedures and safety standards.
  • Track technician attendance, production, and operational performance.
  • Communicate directly with company leadership regarding staffing, production, and operational challenges.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and developing new field technicians.
  • Maintain accurate operational reports and ensure work orders are properly documented and closed.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in Optimum / Cablevision field service operations strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing cable installation technicians or field service teams.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of CableData, CSG, or comparable cable industry billing and work-order management systems.
  • Strong understanding of cable and fiber installation operations.
  • Experience with technician routing, dispatch, work-order management, and daily production tracking.
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues independently.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple field escalations.
  • Comfortable holding technicians accountable for attendance, quality, and productivity.
  • Ability to generate and review daily operational performance reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Optimum field supervisor, field operations manager, or dispatch manager experience.
  • Experience working with Optimum contractors.
  • Knowledge of coaxial and fiber optic installations.
  • Experience managing both W-2 employees and 1099 contractors.
  • Familiarity with technician performance metrics, quality assurance, and repeat service calls.
  • Experience coordinating fleet readiness and technician equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Long Island service territories.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who can step into an active cable operation and immediately understand how the business runs.

The right candidate should be able to:

  • Navigate CableData and CSG confidently.
  • Understand work-order statuses and technician assignments.
  • Identify production issues before they affect daily operations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and field technicians.
  • Resolve operational problems without constant supervision.
  • Improve technician productivity and installation quality.
  • Keep management informed with accurate daily reports.

Candidates with direct Optimum field service management experience will receive priority consideration.
