Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Web Developer / Web Accessibility Specialist to support a digital services team responsible for maintaining accessible, compliant, and user-friendly websites and digital content.
This position will focus on web accessibility auditing, remediation, SharePoint development, front-end development, and digital document accessibility. The successful candidate will help ensure websites and digital assets comply with ADA Title II, WCAG 2. 1/2.
2 Level AA, WAI-ARIA, and Section 508 standards.
Key Responsibilities
Web Accessibility & Remediation
- Conduct manual and automated accessibility audits of websites, portals, and web applications.
- Identify and remediate accessibility issues in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, page structures, and interactive elements.
- Use accessibility testing tools such as Siteimprove and accessiBe.
- Ensure PDFs, videos, forms, graphics, presentations, photos, GIS maps, and other digital assets meet accessibility standards.
- Perform accessibility testing on new and existing web content.
- Collaborate with content creators, IT teams, communications teams, and vendors to implement accessibility best practices.
SharePoint Development
- Manage, maintain, and update SharePoint web pages and content.
- Develop and modify SharePoint templates, web parts, page layouts, and custom components.
- Implement CSS and JavaScript integrations.
- Ensure SharePoint pages and components meet accessibility requirements.
- Implement ARIA roles, landmarks, semantic HTML, and accessible page structures.
Document Accessibility
- Remediate PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.
- Create accessible Microsoft Office documents.
- Review digital content for accessibility compliance.
- Assist with establishing processes and standards for continued accessibility compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, Graphic/Digital Design, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Web Developer, Webmaster, Front-End Developer, Web Accessibility Specialist, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server.
- Strong knowledge of ADA Title II, WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA, WAI-ARIA, and Section 508.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of responsive web development concepts.
- Experience performing web accessibility testing and remediation.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and PDF accessibility remediation.
- Experience creating accessible Microsoft Office documents.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Web Developer or SharePoint Developer with strong web accessibility and remediation experience. Candidates should be comfortable working directly with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SharePoint, accessibility testing tools, and accessible digital documents.
