Operational Medicine Registered Nurse

Position Title: Operational Medicine Registered Nurse

Location: Offutt AFB, NE 68113

Duration: Long-term contract (base year with option years)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (includes 1-hour unpaid lunch); 40 hours per week

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals.

Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.

Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures and guidelines used in the military treatment facility.

Perform physical exams and health histories.

Provide health promotion, counseling and education.

Administer medications, wound care and other personalized interventions.

Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals.

Make patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.

Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.

Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans and actions, and to teach and educate patients, families and the organization.

Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.

Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.

To be considered for this position, you should have

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Current Basic Life

Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or client).

Demonstrated clinical competency in the required clinical discipline within the past two years.

Ability to complete a federal background investigation (SF-85 or SF-86) and obtain military base access.

Physical exam documentation, current immunizations and annual vaccinations.

Pay: $44.00 - $44.40 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
