We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Software Engineer to become part of our expanding technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, developing, implementing, testing, and supporting software applications and systems that align with the company's operational needs and overall technology objectives.

Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Development & Engineering

• Build, test, implement, and support reliable, high-performing software applications.
• Produce organized, reusable, scalable, and maintainable code supported by appropriate documentation.
• Create new software solutions, application features, APIs, system connections, and business tools.
• Upgrade, optimize, and improve existing applications and software platforms.
• Participate in every stage of the development process, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Investigate technical problems, identify root causes, and implement effective resolutions.
• Participate in peer code reviews and help maintain consistent engineering quality standards.

Technical Architecture & Systems Integration

• Collaborate with technology leadership to design and implement flexible, scalable software architectures.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate programming frameworks, platforms, databases, APIs, and development technologies.
• Develop solutions that prioritize system availability, performance, scalability, and long-term supportability.
• Design, implement, and maintain connections between company applications and external technology platforms.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate applications, reduce unnecessary technology expenses, and streamline existing systems.

Business Automation & Optimization

• Work alongside operational and business teams to evaluate current processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Create and implement automated solutions that minimize repetitive tasks and increase operational efficiency.
• Convert business needs and functional requirements into effective technical implementations.
• Explore opportunities involving API integrations, AI-powered applications, workflow automation, and emerging technologies.
• Monitor application performance and business outcomes to identify opportunities for ongoing optimization.

Cybersecurity & Information Protection

• Incorporate secure coding methodologies and security controls throughout the software development process.
• Ensure sensitive company, employee, and client information is appropriately protected.
• Implement security features such as authentication, authorization, encryption, access management, and activity logging.
• Recognize, investigate, and remediate potential software security weaknesses.
• Comply with internal cybersecurity standards, privacy requirements, data protection practices, and technology policies.
• Evaluate security risks associated with cloud infrastructure, AI applications, external APIs, and third-party software solutions.

Teamwork & Communication

• Coordinate with the COO, engineering professionals, business management, and end users to gather requirements and deliver technology solutions.
• Explain technical concepts, project updates, and recommendations in a clear manner to audiences with different technical backgrounds.
• Contribute to project execution, technical discussions, development planning, sprint meetings, and implementation strategies.
• Partner with fellow developers to establish effective coding standards, engineering guidelines, and development procedures.
• Recommend technologies, architectures, and implementation strategies that support the organization's business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• 5+ years of hands-on professional software development experience preferred.
• Demonstrated programming experience with one or more modern languages, including Java, Python, or comparable technologies.
• Background in building web-based applications, APIs, and integrated software solutions.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience using relational databases and/or NoSQL database technologies.
• Proficiency with Git, source control, and contemporary development methodologies.
• Practical understanding of REST APIs and application-to-application communication.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage assignments independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience with cloud environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with React, .NET, or other contemporary application development frameworks.
• Experience creating and supporting APIs, distributed applications, and microservices.
• Knowledge of DevOps methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Experience connecting external SaaS products and third-party services through APIs.
• Background in business workflow automation and operational process improvement.
• Exposure to artificial intelligence, machine learning, or embedding AI capabilities into software products.
• Experience developing applications where information security, privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements are essential.
• Previous experience in financial services, professional services, healthcare, legal technology, or other highly regulated or data-sensitive industries is an advantage.

Pay: $160,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
