Principal Mechanical Engineer – Data Center Cooling & Chillers Location: Dallas, Texas Salary: $170,000–$190,000 Employment: Permanent, Full-Time Working Arrangement: Hybrid after 30 days Relocation: Relocation assistance available Position Overview Vallum Associates is partnering with a leading global engineering and technology organization to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer specializing in data center cooling and chiller systems.

This position will play a critical role in the design, development, integration, and delivery of advanced cooling infrastructure supporting mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities across large-scale chiller and cooling system projects.
• Oversee equipment design, system integration, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and engineering partners to ensure technical compliance.
• Support product development, engineering reviews, and equipment selection.
• Provide technical leadership throughout design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with electrical, controls, and project delivery teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, reliability, and performance.

Required Experience

• Extensive mechanical engineering experience within industrial cooling, HVAC, or chiller systems.
• Strong knowledge of data center cooling infrastructure and mission-critical applications.
• Experience with system integration, supplier management, and technical coordination.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects through execution.
• Strong understanding of mechanical equipment specifications, performance, and reliability.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
