Systems Engineer II About the Opportunity A growing managed services organization is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support a diverse client base across Florida. This role is ideal for a mid-level IT professional who enjoys working across multiple customer environments and technologies, including servers, networking, virtualization, security, and end-user support.

The Systems Engineer II will work closely with clients and fellow engineers to resolve technical issues, maintain infrastructure, and contribute to a high-performing support team. This position also offers the opportunity to help mentor and develop less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and resolve service desk tickets while maintaining excellent client communication Support Windows-based server environments and Active Directory infrastructure Administer DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, user permissions, and directory services Troubleshoot desktop, server, networking, and application issues across multiple client environments Monitor and maintain backups, endpoint protection, patch management, and network health Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network components Assist with virtualization management, including virtual machine creation, snapshots, cloning, and storage administration Review logs, investigate system alerts, and proactively address potential issues Coordinate with third-party vendors to resolve infrastructure and application problems Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures Support both Windows and macOS end users Configure desktops, peripherals, printers, and related hardware Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation on a limited basis Qualifications Required 2+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or comparable IT support role Network+ certification or equivalent technical certification Experience supporting Windows Server environments Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and user administration Experience supporting both Windows and macOS endpoints Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and switching Ability to work independently while effectively managing support tickets and priorities Experience mentoring, training, or assisting junior technical team members Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills Preferred Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment Exposure to firewall platforms such as SonicWall, Cisco, Fortinet, or WatchGuard Experience with virtualization technologies and virtual machine administration Knowledge of backup solutions, endpoint security tools, and patch management processes Experience with Windows scripting, imaging, or automation tools What You'll Gain Exposure to a wide variety of client environments and technologies Opportunities to mentor and help develop other engineers A collaborative technical team environment Career growth with an expanding organization Remote flexibility within Florida Limited after-hours support responsibilities through a periodic rotation schedule By submitting to this position, you are agreeing to be included in our talent pool for future hiring for similarly qualified positions.
