Senior Accountant

CPA Highly Preferred | Month-end Close | Financial Reporting | Hybrid - RTP

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing accounting team. This role will have broad exposure across the accounting function, with responsibility for key areas of the close process, financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant who enjoys taking ownership of their work, solving problems, and identifying opportunities to improve processes in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

• Own key areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare and assist with financial statements and monthly financial reporting
• Analyze account activity and financial results, including variance and fluctuation analysis
• Research and resolve accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Support internal and external audit requests and prepare audit-ready documentation
• Assist with intercompany accounting, consolidations, and multi-entity reporting
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other business teams
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls
• Participate in systems implementations, automation initiatives, and other accounting transformation projects
• Support acquisitions, integrations, and special projects as needed
• Provide guidance and review support to junior accounting team members as appropriate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement concepts
• Financial reporting and financial statement preparation experience preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working within an ERP system
• Public accounting experience preferred, but not required
• CPA or progress toward CPA highly preferred
• Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidations, or technical accounting is a plus
• Experience within a PE-backed, acquisitive, SaaS, retail, or other complex accounting environment is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned areas
• Interest in process improvement, automation, and evolving accounting technology
