About this role

Job Summary

The University Analytics & Institutional Reporting (UAIR) office houses a transformational group of data professionals that turn complex university data into meaningful, highly valued information that is trusted by university leadership to drive strategic decisions, and generate official figures reported to regulatory, external and public agencies.

The UAIR team operates with an iterative mindset of continuous improvement, learning and adapting strategies as we go. We believe the strengths and knowledge each person brings to the team bolster our collective work and aim for a collaborative environment where we thrive together while tapping into our strongest individual contributions.

If you're the type of person who loves data and wants to know your work has meaning, you may find your career home in our office.

UAIR is seeking an experienced AWS cloud architect to oversee the aggressive modernization of the university's data infrastructure. In this role you will lead the strategic execution of moving our data infrastructure from an on-premise Oracle warehouse to a modern, secure, and scalable AWS cloud environment.

This role offers the unique opportunity to build a cloud foundation from the ground up and support the university in moving into a forward-looking AWS architecture.

Like many areas at the University of Utah, our office is a hybrid work environment and requires residence in the state of Utah with the ability to work from campus 3 days per week. More details can be discussed in an interview. Our office is not currently able to support individuals seeking sponsorship for visa—living in and working from the Utah is a requirement.
