Position Summary:
The staff member in this full-time position is responsible for maintaining the Club’s public WordPress website as well as its member side Northstar website and updating its design and content as needed. Additionally, this position creates various digital design projects for social media or printed projects such as menus, brochures, programs, invitations, posters, signs, etc.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for maintaining the Club’s WordPress website and updating page design, layout and content as needed, including event calendars, photo galleries, menus, forms and other public-facing features.
- Responsible for maintaining the Club’s member-side website and updating page design, layout and content as needed, including event calendars, photo galleries, menus, forms and other public-facing features.
- Ensures website content is current, accurate, user-friendly and displays correctly on mobile devices and across browsers.
- Performs routine website maintenance, including WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, confirming backups are completed, and managing user accounts and permissions. Coordinates with the Club’s hosting provider or web vendor on technical issues as needed.
- Manages website update requests from Club departments, posts updates in a timely manner, and removes or archives outdated content.
- Tracks website traffic and performance using Google Analytics and provides regular reports and recommendations to the Marketing & Communications Director.
- Creates digital graphics for the website, email communications and social media.
- Responsible for collaborating with other departments to complete their projects on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for maintaining the Club’s logo and brand standards. This involves working with various Club departments to ensure appropriate use of the branding.
- Maintains brand standards on the website and social media.
Education
Degree in web/graphic design or a related creative field.
Experience
- Minimum two years prior web and graphic design experience via school or company.
- A portfolio including both website and print design work is required.
Additional Skills
- Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.
- WordPress proficiency is required, including page builders, themes and plugins.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, Google Analytics, and web best practices including responsive design, accessibility and basic SEO.
- Personable and professional demeanor, strong organizational skills, prepress experience a plus.
- This is a full-time position, typically 40 hours per week.
- Hours are dependent on workload, and the individual must be flexible to support Club events and deadlines, which may occasionally include evenings.
