WHO WE ARE

At Trustly, we're building a smarter, faster, and more secure financial future by revolutionizing the world of payments. As a global leader in Open Banking Payments, we are establishing Pay by Bank as the new standard at checkout, providing unparalleled freedom, speed, and ease to millions of consumers and merchants worldwide.

Our Ambition

To build the world’s most disruptive payment network and redefine what the payment experience should feel like.

Trustly is a global team of innovators, collaborators, and doers. If you are driven by a strong sense of purpose and thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and high-growth environment, join us and be part of a team that’s transforming the way the world pays.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Trustly guarantees payments in North America, and every approval and every recovery runs on our risk decisioning and collections platforms. This role owns the product strategy for those platforms and runs the operating rhythm for the Data and Risk organizations, so that our teams plan well, deliver on their commitments, and complete critical risk operations and compliance work on time.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

------------------

LEAD THE RISK DECISIONING AND COLLECTIONS PLATFORMS

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for the risk decisioning platform and the collections platform, tied to approval rate, loss and recovery rate.
  • Lead the risk decisioning platform: the real-time decision engine (scoring path, latency and availability), the facts and scores available at decision time, and self-serve rule and threshold authoring with versioning, simulation, test mode and rollback.
  • Lead the collections platform: representment, retry and recovery workflows, consumer communications, reconciliation, and collections agency and vendor integrations, within collections regulations.
  • Lead the risk operations tooling: alert and case management, manual review queues and per-merchant risk settings.
  • Partner with Risk Engineering on architecture, build-versus-buy decisions, release planning and delivery. Run one prioritization process across both platforms, with clear trade-offs on cost, risk and engineering capacity.
  • Translate risk requirements and regulatory obligations into product requirements and launch criteria, with Portfolio Risk Management, Risk Data Science, Compliance and Legal.
  • Define with Risk Data Science and Data Platform how models and features reach the decision path in production.

RUN THE OPERATING RHYTHM FOR DATA AND RISK

  • Keep one central tracker of operational tasks, owners and due dates across Data and Risk.
  • Watch critical risk operations and compliance deliverables closely, including audit and regulatory requests, and flag items at risk of slipping.
  • Follow up with task owners so that critical items are completed on time.
  • Send regular status updates to the Chief Data and Risk Officer and escalate blockers when needed.
  • Run the Data and Risk leadership cadence: staff meetings, monthly business reviews and quarterly readouts, and follow decisions and actions through to closure.
  • Run annual and quarterly planning for Data and Risk: OKRs, roadmaps, headcount and budget, in partnership with Finance and People.
  • Track hiring, headcount and spend against plan.
  • Manage data, risk and collections vendors in partnership with Procurement, Finance and Legal: selection, contract renewals and spend.
  • Prepare executive and board materials for the Chief Data and Risk Officer.
  • Lead cross-functional programs and special projects across Data and Risk.
  • Bring AI and automation into status reporting, planning and team workflows.

LEAD THE TEAM

  • Hire, manage and develop the risk and collections product managers and the operations staff.
  • Set product management standards across Risk: requirements, launch reviews and post-launch measurement.

WHO YOU ARE

---------------

  • 10+ years in product management, including at least 5 years leading risk, fraud or collections products in payments or financial services.
  • Experience building real-time decisioning platforms: rules engines, model scores in the decision path, and rule authoring with simulation and rollback.
  • Experience leading product managers and partnering with engineering on architecture, build-versus-buy and delivery.
  • Experience shipping ML-driven products with data science teams.
  • Experience translating regulatory and compliance obligations into product requirements with Compliance and Legal.
  • Experience running planning and operating cadence for a multi-team organization: OKRs, headcount, budget, business reviews, and executive and board materials.
  • Data and analytics fluency, with the judgment to tell when a number is wrong.

PREFERRED

  • ACH or EFT domain expertise. Experience with open banking or account-to-account payments.
  • Product or operations experience in collections and recovery, including agency and vendor management.
  • Background in chief of staff, strategy and operations, or technical program management.
  • Experience using AI to automate operational workflows and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. MBA is a plus.
