Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

Join our care team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, providing thoughtful, evidence-informed behavioral health care across patient visits. You’ll assess mental health needs, develop care plans, and coordinate with healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.

Duties

• Conduct psychiatric assessments, and diagnostic evaluations, document findings in electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Develop treatment plans, provide health coaching, prescribe and administer medications in accordance with applicable regulations, including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) requirements.
• Coordinate referrals, case management, discharge planning, and follow-up with patients, families, and the care team.
• Educate patients about medications and mental health conditions
• Provide care through clinic telehealth settings as applicable, protect privacy and follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.
• Maintain accurate medical records and support safe, respectful patient care.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation

Skills

• Required: Nurse practitioner preparation and applicable licensure and prescribing authority for the practice location; strong patient assessment, communication, medical documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of psychiatry, behavioral health, medical terminology, and healthcare diagnosis.
• Preferred experience is knowledge in telehealth psychiatry
• Familiarity with Simple Practice; ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT coding, triage, medication administration.
• Additional relevant experience include clinical research, pain management and occupational health,

Pay: From $70.00 per hour
