About this role
TriasMD is the management platform behind DISC Surgery Centers, a multi-site ambulatory surgery center organization with seven active centers across California and Florida, backed by Chicago Pacific Founders, a healthcare-focused private equity firm. Corporate accounting runs on Sage Intacct across seven center entities and three corporate entities, each analyzed, reconciled and reported every month.
We are rebuilding the accounting team around specialist ownership and a 15-day close.
This Senior Accountant role owns the fixed assets, leases, and inventory functions end to end, ensuring accurate accounting, timely reconciliations, and appropriate review of related activities, and it will review the work of a staff accountant and an offshore accountant. The position reports directly to the Director of Accounting and is based in our Newport Beach office.
This position will own the platform's long-lived assets and inventory end to end: every facility and equipment lease, the fixed asset register across all entities, construction in progress on center builds and expansions, and surgical supplies and implant inventory at each center. This is a build role, and the first priority is complete and verified populations.
What You Will
Own
- Lease accounting. Maintain the complete lease population under ASC 842, including facility, equipment and embedded leases, with right-of-use asset and liability schedules, amortization, and remeasurement on modification, assignment or transfer between entities.
- Lease completeness. Build the process that captures new and changed leases when they are signed, so the population stays complete rather than being rebuilt at year end.
- Fixed asset register. Own additions, disposals, transfers between centers, useful lives, depreciation and the monthly roll-forward for every entity, reconciled to the general ledger.
- Construction in progress. Track CIP with the development team, make the placed-in-service call, and transfer completed projects to depreciable assets on time.
- Supplies and inventory. Own supplies and implant inventory accounting by center: count true-ups, valuation, and supplies expense tied to case volume as usage reporting from the supply chain team comes online.
- Capitalization policy. Apply the policy consistently, including freight, installation and sales tax, and correct items that were expensed or capitalized in error.
- Audit support. Own the lease, fixed asset and inventory schedules and roll-forwards for the auditors and answer their questions directly.
Additional Responsibilities
Prepares the debt and equity reconciliations and roll-forwards for review by the Director of Accounting, and backs up the close where needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with prior experience/responsibility for fixed assets and lease accounting
- Working knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting, including operating vs. finance lease classification, ROU asset and lease liability measurement, and lease modifications
- Hands-on experience maintaining a fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and fixed asset roll-forwards
- Inventory or cost accounting experience, including physical counts, valuation, and reconciling expenses to actual usage
- Experience preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations supported by independent documentation and underlying detail, rather than simply agreeing balances to the general ledger
- Multi-entity experience within a single ERP
- Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to identify and proactively escalate discrepancies or unusual activity
Other Relevant Experience
- CPA license
- Healthcare provider experience, ideally ambulatory surgery centers or hospitals
- Sage Intacct or a comparable mid-market ERP
- Lease software implementation or lease population remediation
- Debt roll-forwards, including PIK interest
- Private equity backed or multi-site platform experience
What Success Looks Like
- First 90 days. The lease, fixed asset and inventory populations are complete and verified, every account in your area is reconciled on the standard template, and you can explain the basis for any balance you own.
- First 6 months. Your accounts close on the calendar without follow-up, new leases and assets are captured as they happen, supplies expense ties to usage by center, and the auditors get what they need from you directly.
Work Arrangement and Pay
Onsite at our corporate office, 3501 Jamboree Road, Newport Beach, five days a week, with additional hours during month-end close.
The base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $110,000, set by experience and qualifications, plus our standard benefits package.
