About this role
Our innovative client is seeking a dynamic Electrical Systems Engineer to join their fast-paced team. In this role, you will lead key aspects of electrical design and development for both existing products and next-generation instruments. You will design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for new product development, create schematics, and guide or perform PCB layout.
The ideal candidate brings a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to design, testing, troubleshooting, and production, and thrives when collaborating in constructive technical discussions.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Integration: Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits; integrate sensors, processors, and electromechanical subsystems into cohesive, high-performance designs.
Prototyping & Testing
Create schematics, guide or perform PCB layout, bring up new boards, run benchtop tests, and iterate rapidly on prototypes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Build strong working relationships with mechanical, optical, software, and operations teams to advance a next-generation instrument toward release.
Production & Lifecycle Support
Deliver improvements to existing products, support production through troubleshooting, and develop test fixtures.
Supply Chain Engineering
Evaluate critical components influencing system architecture, resolve supply chain or component-related constraints, and qualify new vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering or hardware development.
Product Ownership
Proven track record of taking ownership of major electrical subsystems on at least one active product, guiding design efforts through a full development cycle.
Hardware Shipping
Direct experience shipping hardware and a deep understanding of what it takes to bring physical products to market.
Technical Mastery
Demonstrated ability to act as a key problem-solver for complex electrical or system-level challenges.
