Our internally developed software is central to how the company operates. It supports business processes and manufacturing workflows including quoting, purchasing, inventory, scheduling, production visibility, reporting, and other critical operations.

Our core development environment, databases, and application servers are hosted and managed on\-premises; this is not a cloud\-based application environment.

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to provide technical leadership and deliver significant internal software applications, automation, integrations, and technology initiatives. This position focuses on data\-driven business and manufacturing software.

The **Senior Software Developer** role will join a fun, energetic, collaborative team that genuinely enjoys working together, sharing ideas, and solving problems. You will work directly with the Software Development Manager, other developers, and employees throughout the business to understand real operational needs and turn them into reliable, maintainable solutions.

You will lead assigned work from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment readiness, and production support. You will also help guide architectural decisions and development practices, mentor other developers, and improve the long\-term security, performance, reliability, and maintainability of our software environment.

This role offers the opportunity to see firsthand how your work affects purchasing, inventory, scheduling, reporting, and activity on the manufacturing floor.

**Essential duties and responsibilities:**

• Take technical ownership of significant applications, projects, integrations, and cross\-functional initiatives; establish the technical approach, break initiatives into manageable work, and identify dependencies, risks, and milestones.
• Develop a firm understanding of the key features and business workflows of our internal platform by collaborating directly with business, engineering, and manufacturing users to clarify requirements and define practical technical solutions.
• Design and develop secure, reliable, maintainable, data\-driven web applications using object\-oriented programming and sound client\-server architecture, contributing directly to both back\-end and front\-end development.
• Design and evolve relational database schemas, queries, and data\-access patterns with careful attention to data integrity, performance, and downstream effects.
• Work directly with employees on the production floor to understand how they use our systems, identify points of friction and inefficiency, and partner with them to design, implement, and refine solutions that streamline their processes and make their day\-to\-day work easier and more effective.
• Make or recommend sound decisions involving architecture, scope, security, performance, reliability, maintainability, and implementation tradeoffs.
• Ensure assigned solutions receive appropriate design and code review, testing, documentation, deployment planning, production\-readiness evaluation, and post\-release support, and that significant concerns are resolved or escalated before release.
• Investigate complex application, integration, and data problems; lead root cause analysis; and implement both immediate corrections and systemic improvements.
• Mentor other developers and help improve architecture, coding standards, testing, documentation, security, development processes, and technical debt management.
• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and circumstances that could materially affect operations, quality, security, scope, or delivery expectations while promoting adherence to ISO 9001:2015, 5S, and other applicable standards.

**Qualifications:**

• At least 8 years of professional software development experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
• Significant experience applying object\-oriented programming principles to complex, data\-driven production applications.
• Significant experience developing full\-stack, client\-server web applications using patterns such as MVC, including server\-side business logic, data access, JSON\-based APIs, third\-party system integrations, and browser\-based user interfaces.
• Strong relational database design and SQL skills, including data modeling, schema design, query development, data integrity, and performance considerations.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative version\-control workflows.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, security, testing, debugging, deployment, integrations, and production support, combined with the curiosity and initiative to explore new technologies and alternative approaches when they offer practical value.
• Demonstrated ability to lead substantial technical work, make sound decisions involving design, implementation, scope, and risk, conduct code reviews, and mentor other developers.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem\-solving skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to collaborate with technical and nontechnical colleagues; and the ability to manage multiple complex priorities with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience

**Environmental and Physical Requirements:**

• Regular computer use and close\-proximity viewing.
• Regular sitting, standing, use of hands and fingers to perform assigned work, and verbal communication.

• Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
