Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced

DevOps Engineer

with deep expertise in

Microsoft Azure

,

Azure DevOps

,

Terraform

, and

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

. This role will be responsible for designing, automating, deploying, and supporting cloud infrastructure within a secure Azure Government Cloud environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), managing Azure services, and administering personalized Azure Virtual Desktop environments for internal and client use.

This individual will play a key role in automation, cloud operations, security, and infrastructure scalability while helping drive future AI initiatives within the organization.

Azure DevOps & Cloud Operations]]

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitLab.

Support and administer Azure DevOps environments, including source control, automation, deployment processes, and platform services.

Provision, configure, and manage Azure infrastructure and cloud services.

Deploy and maintain Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions across multiple environments.

Infrastructure Automation

Utilize Terraform to provision and manage cloud infrastructure as code.

Develop and maintain Ansible automation for software installation, configuration management, patching, and operational tasks.

Build repeatable, scalable, and secure deployment processes through automation.

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Administration

Serve as the subject matter expert for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).

Build, configure, and maintain dedicated AVD environments for clients accessing Azure Government Cloud resources.

Automate the deployment and management of personalized virtual desktops.

Manage software deployments, patching, vulnerability remediation, upgrades, and lifecycle management for AVD environments.

Support the growth of the AVD footprint from approximately 11 dedicated environments today to 25+ over the next year.

Security & Compliance

Implement and support Zero Trust security principles, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption, and privileged access controls.

Identify, assess, and remediate infrastructure and application vulnerabilities.

Ensure Azure environments align with security and compliance requirements.

Monitoring & Operations

Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

Build operational dashboards that provide visibility into system health, performance, and security.

Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, platform, and deployment issues.

Emerging Technologies

Participate in AI-related initiatives and cloud innovation efforts as opportunities arise.

Evaluate and implement modern automation and operational technologies that improve efficiency and scalability.

Job Requirements

5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience supporting enterprise cloud environments.

Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitLab.

Strong experience provisioning and managing infrastructure using Terraform.

Hands-on experience deploying, managing, and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.

Experience supporting Azure services and managing end-to-end cloud operations.

Knowledge of Azure monitoring, logging, operational dashboards, and observability tools.
