About OX
The Office of Experience (OX) is a full-service digital agency helping companies excel at every moment of interface they have with their customers. OX’s human-centered philosophy and multidisciplinary approach integrate strategy, design and technology to help organizations reinvent their business and rapidly bring new experiences, products and messages to market. In an era of unprecedented disruption, OX is built to transform.
Position Description
As a Senior Designer on OX's Experience Design Team, you'll design the digital products, platforms and experiences our clients' customers use every day: enterprise websites, e-commerce, portals, apps and the design systems behind them.
You pair strong visual craft with product and experience design thinking: you can take an ambiguous brief, understand the business goal and the user need behind it, map the flows, prototype, test and carry the solution all the way to a polished, build-ready experience. You own meaningful workstreams with light oversight, present and defend your work with clients, and partner closely with UX, content, strategy and engineering.
You also use AI tools as a natural part of how you work: to explore wider, prototype sooner and spend more of your time on the decisions that matter.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Own end-to-end design for features, flows and products, from discovery and concepting through high-fidelity UI, prototyping and developer handoff
- Translate business goals, user research and data into clear design decisions, and articulate the “why” behind every solution
- Partner with UX on journeys, task flows and information architecture, then bring them to life with strong visual and interaction design
- Build interactive prototypes in Figma (and code or AI-assisted tools where they help) to test ideas early and align stakeholders
- Contribute to and extend design systems (components, patterns, tokens and documentation) with consistency, accessibility and scale in mind
- Design responsive, accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA) experiences across web, mobile and emerging touchpoints, with a working understanding of how they get built
- Partner with engineering through build: annotated specs, design QA and pragmatic trade-offs that protect the experience
- Extend brand identities into digital products, including UI systems, motion and interaction, so the experience feels unmistakably like the client
- Present work to clients, including senior stakeholders, and help facilitate working sessions and workshops alongside creative leadership
- Use AI tools thoughtfully across your workflow (research synthesis, ideation, content exploration and rapid prototyping) and share what works with the team
- Mentor Designers and peers through critique, feedback and example
Required Experience
- 6+ years of digital design experience, including at least 2–3 years as a functioning senior level designer focused on product, UX/UI or experience design, ideally in an agency, consultancy or in-house product team
- A portfolio of shipped digital products or platforms that shows your process, including problem framing, flows, iteration and outcomes, rather than just final screens
- Expert-level Figma skills (components, variants, auto layout, prototyping, shared libraries); amongst other modern tools & software
- Strong visual design fundamentals: typography, layout, color, hierarchy and interaction detail
- Solid grounding in UX principles, usability heuristics and accessibility standards
- Experience designing within, contributing to or building a design system
- Working knowledge of front-end realities (responsive layouts, HTML/CSS, component-based development) and comfort collaborating closely with developers
- Confidence presenting and rationalizing work to clients and cross-functional teams
- Hands-on curiosity about AI-enabled design tools and how they're changing the craft
Nice to Have
- Experience planning or running usability tests and user interviews
- Motion and interaction design skills (e.g., After Effects, Lottie, Rive)
- Prototyping in code or with AI-assisted builders (e.g., Figma Make, v0, Claude, et al.)
- A content design or UX writing sensibility
- Experience with complex B2B, e-commerce or enterprise platforms
- Familiarity with analytics, A/B testing or experimentation tools
- Shown knowledge of ecommerce and/or design support to larger platforms
What Success Looks Like
- Craft & Quality:
Your work is polished, near launch-ready and consistent with the system, and you hold a high bar without being asked.
- Ownership & Complexity:
You run a product area or workstream end to end with light oversight, and the scope you're trusted with keeps growing.
- Process & Problem-Solving:
You move from a messy brief to a tested, defensible solution by exploring widely, prioritizing well and following through.
- Collaboration & Communication:
UX, content, engineering and clients see you as a trusted partner who makes the work clearer, not more complicated.
- Impact & Influence:
You raise the bar for the designers around you and help shape outcomes for the client and for OX.
