Powder Coating Operations Manager

The Kelly Group is seeking a Powder Coating Operations Manager for its Lafayette, Indiana, location. Candidates should have strong leadership, communication and organizational skills. Three or more years of experience in powder coating operations, manufacturing or industrial finishing management is preferred.

This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:

• Directing and overseeing all daily powder coating operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction
• Managing production schedules and coordinating workflow between fabrication, pretreatment, coating, curing, inspection and shipping departments
• Ensuring finished products consistently meet customer specifications and quality requirements
• Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), including throughput, first-pass yield, rework rates, labor efficiency and on-time delivery
• Managing inventory levels for powder, chemicals, consumables and operating supplies
• Overseeing pretreatment systems, wash line chemistry, cure oven performance and equipment maintenance programs
• Ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, safety and company policies and procedures
• Supporting ISO quality management system requirements and maintaining operational documentation
• Participating in budgeting, capital improvement planning and strategic growth initiatives for the powder coating operation

Other preferred qualifications sought include:

• Strong understanding of powder coating processes, pretreatment systems, curing requirements and coating inspection standards
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing or ERP systems
