Group Sales Manager

The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk is seeking a motivated, organized Group Sales Manager to grow group business. The ideal candidate is a proactive prospector and collaborative team player who enjoys building client relationships and delivering successful events from the first inquiry through post-event follow-up.

Responsibilities

• Prospect, qualify, and develop new group business.
• Manage the full sales process: lead generation, site tours, proposals, negotiations, contracts, room blocks, event details, and follow-up
• Coordinate conferences, meetings, and trade shows from planning through execution.
• Build strong relationships with clients, community organizations, and local business groups
• Meet sales, revenue, and activity goals; maintain accurate account records, forecasts, and reports
• Use the hotel’s sales systems consistently
• Communicate with client needs clearly to operations and help resolve concerns promptly
• Represent the hotel at networking events, trade shows, and community functions

Compensation and Schedule

• Aggressive commission program competitive Salary, PTO, Health Insurance, Dental & Vision and parking.
• Schedule: Full-time, typically 40 hours per week. The role is primarily weekday-based, with occasional evenings and weekends required for client events, conferences, trade shows, or networking functions.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in the SMERF market
• Demonstrated prospecting and account-development skills
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and follow-through skills
• Experience preparing proposals, negotiating, and managing group or event details
• Comfortable with sales goals, reporting, and hotel sales technology
• Initiative, sound judgment, and a collaborative, service-focused approach
