What to Expect

Robotaxi is now operating commercially and the systems behind it have to grow with our ambitious plans. Join a small team of experts building and scaling the server-side platform that powers Robotaxi and Optimus: the connectivity, customer control, orchestration, and operation services behind millions of vehicles and robots.

You will design, ship, and operate core services in production alongside world-class engineers. The role is hands-on and has direct impact on the Tesla product roadmap and mission.

We are hiring at the Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer levels.

What You'll Do* Design, build, and operate scalable, highly available, mission-critical services and APIs

  • Own features end to end, from design through production rollout and support
  • Build on distributed, asynchronous messaging at fleet scale
  • Write secure, performant, well-tested code and review the work of others
  • Partner with Product, SRE, and Infrastructure to deliver on the roadmap

What You'll Bring* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 3+ years building backend services, preferably in a service-oriented architecture
  • Strong programming skills in a modern backend language, Go preferred
  • Experience with distributed systems, web services, or messaging systems
  • Clear communication of technical concepts to a wide audience
  • Experience with web security is a plus

Expected Compensation

$140,000 - $312,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
