Corporate Controller

** POSITION IS ONSITE IN NORTH BILLERICA, MA **

Tecogen Inc. (NYSE American: TGEN) has an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Controller. We design, manufacture and service commercial and industrial natural-gas-fueled engine-driven, combined heat and power products that reduce energy costs, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, and alleviate power grid constraints.

Our products enable data centers to maximize power allocation to revenue producing activities, while our chillers provide facility cooling. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller we be onsite at our company office in North Billerica, MA, and will be involved in corporate accounting, internal and external financial reporting, FP&A and tax.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Corporate Controller will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting and reporting activities, to included, but not limited to:

· Manage and supervise the accounting staff.

· Prepare financial reports, analysis and documents, to include SEC reporting on Form 10-Q, 10-K and DEF14A, in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting and disclosure requirements.

· Research and implement technical accounting pronouncements as necessary.

· Oversee the quarterly review and annual audit process with our outside registered independent public accountants.

· Support outside tax consultants for the preparation of federal and state tax returns and tax payments.

· Liase with external service provider for the filing of statutory annual reports with fifteen states.

· Lead ICFR project to include COSO risk assessment, financial and operating policy development and implementation, process control charts, control identification, employee training and control testing.

· Assist with risk management activities.

· Prepare periodic asset valuations.

· Provide analysis and assistance to corporate financial decisions.

· All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or finance from an accredited college or university.

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or MS in Accounting.

· Minimum of eight years of professional experience within a public company in a senior accounting or financial role.

· Understanding of SEC reporting, disclosure and filing requirements, with working knowledge of internation finance and accounting.

· Proficiency with CSI Infor, Workiva, MS Excel, and financial analytics.

· Industry experience in renewal energy, technology or engineering business is preferred.

· Demonstrated people skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships at all levels.

· Must be comfortable working in a changing and dynamic start-up like environment.

· Must be within a commutable distance to work fully onsite in North Billerica, MA

Pay Range for this role is $147,500 - $160,000 based on experience and credentials. This role is full-time exempt and benefit eligible as of date of hire.
