Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

TechTrend is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, security, and compliance of enterprise software applications operating within a secure, cloud-hosted environment. The successful candidate will work as an integral member of Agile development teams, collaborating with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to validate system functionality and support continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on system requirements and user stories.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and data validation testing for web-based and cloud-hosted applications.
• Validate integrations across GOTS, COTS, and custom-built components to ensure interoperability and data integrity.
• Identify, document, and track defects using issue management tools and collaborate with development teams to support resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and validate results against acceptance criteria.
• Verify compliance with security, performance, and operational requirements.
• Contribute to quality metrics, test reports, and release readiness assessments.
• Assist with test environment coordination and release validation activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years in software QA/testing, including web and cloud applications.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, test life cycle, and defect management.
• Experience leading QA efforts, mentoring testers, and coordinating across teams.
• Agile development experience and familiarity with issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.
• Familiarity with secure cloud environments (Azure IL5/IL6 or FedRAMP).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
• Certifications: ISTQB Advanced Level (Test Analyst or Test Manager) and CSQA or CSTE.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• · Agile/DevOps testing certifications (e.g., CAT, ICP-TST)
• · Test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, CTAE)
• · Process improvement certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt)
• · Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, security, and performance testing.

• Active Secret Clearance or TS

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE:

• Hybrid at Ft Eustis, VA (3 days on-site / 2 days remote)
