Senior Systems Consultant / Senior Systems Engineer – Microsoft 365 (M365)
Location: Philadelphia, PA (100% onsite, 5 days a week)
Job Type: Contract, 12 months (extension likely)
About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Systems Consultant (also titled Senior Systems Engineer) to join a government client's Platform Engineering team in Philadelphia, PA. You'll be the go-to technical expert for the organization's Microsoft 365 environment. You'll meet with business and technical users to understand their needs, recommend Microsoft-based solutions, lead training, and guide the platform's modernization and governance.
This is a consulting and enablement role, not a help desk role. There are no on-call duties.
What You'll Do
- Consult with business and technical stakeholders and recommend M365 solutions for their workflows and business processes
- Serve as the subject matter expert for SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, Power Apps, and Purview
- Plan and deliver regular training, from small group sessions to large workshops
- Lead the rollout of new M365 features and updates, and promote an "evergreen" approach to adopting change
- Develop SharePoint and Power Apps governance standards
- Mentor junior engineers and lead knowledge transfer sessions
- Curate the team's solution documentation library and support its DevOps practices
- Build and facilitate a community of practice for M365 users
- Work with the Learning Management System team on technical training content
- Report weekly on progress, blockers, and risks
- Attend meetings and training sessions at multiple office locations within the city as needed
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience with Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Teams (including Teams Voice and Teams Rooms)
- 5+ years of PowerShell scripting, including code reviews and source control (Git, Azure DevOps, or similar)
- 3+ years leading consultations with both technical and non-technical audiences
- 3+ years preparing and delivering training, ideally on M365 products
- Ability to manage your own work and deliver independently
- Ability to pass an FBI fingerprint-based background check (CJIS)
- Willingness to complete HIPAA compliance training
- Able to work 100% onsite in Philadelphia, PA, 5 days a week
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft GCC (Government Community Cloud) tenants and licensing
- Hands-on Power Apps development and governance experience
- Microsoft Purview experience
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MS-700, PL-900, or PL-100
