TCI Biotech is seeking an experienced, proactive, and tech-savvy HR Generalist to support our U.S. operations in American Fork, Utah.

This role is ideal for an HR professional with 3–5 years of hands-on experience who can independently manage day-to-day HR functions, support recruitment and employee engagement, and coordinate payroll with external service providers.

While our hiring volume and employee turnover are relatively low, we are looking for someone who can take ownership of HR responsibilities across multiple functions, maintain a positive workplace environment, and continuously improve operational efficiency through the practical use of AI and digital tools.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Recruitment & Onboarding

Manage the recruitment process for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and onboarding.

Partner with department managers to understand staffing needs and identify qualified candidates.

Ensure an organized and positive hiring and onboarding experience.

2.

Employee Relations & Engagement

Serve as the primary on-site HR contact for employees and management.

Support employee communication, engagement, retention, and workplace concerns.

Promote a positive, supportive, and professional workplace culture.

Assist management with performance discussions, employee relations matters, and appropriate documentation.

3.

Payroll Coordination

Serve as the primary liaison with external payroll consultants and service providers.

Coordinate payroll information, employee changes, timekeeping records, and payroll-related inquiries.

Review payroll information for accuracy and ensure timely communication with external partners.

Help resolve payroll discrepancies and employee questions.

4. AI & HR Process Improvement

Actively utilize AI-powered tools and digital solutions to streamline HR workflows and improve productivity.

Identify opportunities to automate or simplify repetitive administrative tasks, recruiting processes, reporting, and internal communications.

Demonstrate a practical understanding of how AI can enhance HR efficiency and support business operations.

Ensure responsible use of AI tools while maintaining employee confidentiality and data privacy.

5.

General HR

Support & Compliance

Maintain accurate employee records and basic HR documentation.

Coordinate occasional employee benefits updates and communicate with external benefits brokers as needed.

Support compliance with applicable federal and Utah employment laws.

Assist with other HR-related matters as business needs arise.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on HR experience, with 3–5 years preferred.
  • Practical experience in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and payroll coordination.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple HR responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of federal and Utah employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Practical knowledge of AI tools and demonstrated ability to use AI to improve workflow efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRIS systems.
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.

Preferred

Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Familiarity with Paycom or similar HRIS/payroll systems.

Experience collaborating with external payroll providers, HR consultants, or benefits brokers.

Spanish-speaking ability.

What We’re Looking For

  • We value practical experience, ownership, adaptability, and efficiency over job titles or seniority.
  • The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who can manage routine HR responsibilities independently, build strong relationships with employees, and leverage AI and technology to work smarter.
  • This is a multifaceted individual contributor role, best suited for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and making a meaningful impact in a growing organization.
