RN II - PACU (Mandatory Call) (CNA)

Job Summary

Provides specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Monitors patients' vital signs, manages post-operative needs, and responds to complications while ensuring safe recovery.

Education & Experience

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Minimum 1–2 years of PACU, perioperative, or critical care nursing experience (Preferred)

Licenses & Certifications

• Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Preferred or based on facility requirements)

Key Responsibilities

• Monitors patients' vital signs, airway, oxygen levels, and recovery from anesthesia.
• Assesses pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms and provides appropriate interventions.
• Administers medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
• Recognizes and responds promptly to post-anesthesia complications and emergencies.
• Collaborates with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and healthcare staff to coordinate patient care.
• Provides patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery.
• Maintains accurate clinical documentation and follows patient safety protocols.
• Participates in mandatory on-call coverage and responds to call-back requirements as scheduled.
