The Opportunity

DCH - Travel: CSICU/CSU RN

Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals. Will accept 36 or 48 hours per week.

HOLIDAYS AS REQUIRED. EVERY OTHER WEEKEND.

Our Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) is a four 4-bed unit that directs its resources principally towards the care of adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular and other surgical conditions requiring critical care located on 4 North.

The care of these patients is primarily focused on post operative recovery and providing complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring. Nurses must exhibit high levels of professional competency.

CSU is an 8 bed stepdown unit. The stepdown unit focuses on the care and recovery of patients after cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.

Both units are supported by a cardiovascular educator. Together we specialize in the patient centered approach to care.

Education - Required

• Associated degree in nursing

Certifications – Required

• AHA BLS
• AHA NIH
• OR RED CROSS

Certifications – Preferred

• AHA PALS – if working in pediatric unit

Licenses – Required

• Registered Nurse State of Alabama or compact license (No Temp Licenses' accepted)
• NURSYS

Experience - Required:

• 2 years experience; however, will consider 18 months of experience, working under the highest level of professional license, and must have 1 year of experience in the field of specialty.
