About this role

Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.

Job Description:

Sync Energy Services needs the internal web portal that commissioning and operations teams will use every day: engineering tools, site dashboards, a handover workspace, and CX University, Sync's training and qualification platform.

This role owns building that portal end to end tools that have to be fast, clear, and work on a tablet at a job site, since the people relying on them day to day are engineers and field technicians, not office staff.

Preferred Background:

  • 4+ years building production web applications, front end and back end.
  • Strong TypeScript with React or Next.js, and Python or Node.js for APIs.
  • Solid SQL and PostgreSQL experience.
  • Experience deploying containerized apps on a major cloud (Google Cloud preferred) with CI/CD.
  • A track record of building internal business tools that people actually use, not only marketing sites.
  • Care for usability: responsive layouts, accessibility, and designs that work for non-technical users.

Preferred Skillsets:

  • Experience with learning platforms, quizzes or certification tracking.
  • Experience integrating LLM or AI features into an application.
  • Background building tools for field, construction, utility or manufacturing teams.
  • Data visualization experience (charts and dashboards).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and ship the portal on Google Cloud Run, behind Identity-Aware Proxy with company Google sign-in.
  • Turn spreadsheet-based workflows into web tools: calculators, test-sheet generators, punch-list tracking and site dashboards.
  • Build CX University: course pages, video, quizzes, and qualification records by test type and equipment class.
  • Build the handover view that gives Operations each site's as-built records, test results and open items at commercial operation.
  • Add AI features that call the team's grounded search and MCP server, such as an assistant that answers from approved procedures.
  • Work directly with field engineers to test tools on real sites and improve them quickly.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods on construction jobsites.
  • Ability to traverse uneven terrain and work in varied weather conditions typical of outdoor construction environments.
  • Ability to distinguish color‑coded wiring where required for safety‑critical electrical work, with reasonable accommodation where feasible.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all site safety protocols.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.

The Company retains candidate resumes, including referrals and unsolicited submissions, for up to 3 years to support legitimate business needs, including future hiring consideration. Retention is limited to what is necessary, consistent with federal recordkeeping requirements and applicable data privacy laws.
