The final scope, term, payment schedule, confidentiality obligations, and ownership of work product will be defined in a written independent contractor agreement.

*At 32 hours per week, the anticipated hourly range equates to an annualized contract value of approximately $64,900–$74,900, assuming 52 weeks at that volume. This illustration is not a salary or a guarantee of hours or engagement duration.

Qualifications

Experience

Approximately 3–5 years of professional experience in production design, digital design, or a closely related field.

Agency or high-volume studio experience is strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to maintain quality while working efficiently across multiple brands.

Portfolio

A portfolio demonstrating excellent craft across digital campaigns, social media, paid advertising, and multi-format brand systems.

Technical Experience

Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, plus strong working knowledge of Figma. Strong command of typography, layout, color, composition, image preparation, file setup, and export specifications.

Team Collaboration

  • Excellent attention to detail and sound production judgment.
  • Awareness of accessible and inclusive design practices.
  • Interest in social-impact communications and a connection to Swell’s mission.
  • A collaborative, reliable, candid, and solutions-oriented approach, with a sense of humor.

Swell welcomes candidates with relevant experience and a portfolio that demonstrates strong production craft, clear communication, and thoughtful design.

  • Coordinate design deliverables across multiple clients and priorities.
  • Communicate capacity clearly and coordinate agreed deadlines and collaboration windows.
  • Ask clarifying questions, incorporate feedback, and flag issues that may affect delivery or quality.
  • Provide creative support when designed assets are the right tool for the communication.
