Newly Licensed Attorneys Encouraged to Apply – No Family Law Experience Required!

We are a San Diego family law firm seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Associate Attorney who is interested in building a long-term career in family law.

We are willing to train the right candidate!

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney who wants to develop strong legal skills, gain practical experience, and learn family law through hands-on training and mentorship.

We are not looking for someone who already knows everything about family law. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes initiative, pays attention to detail, and is committed to becoming an excellent attorney.

Responsibilities

• Assist with divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, and property division cases.
• Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery, and correspondence.
• Conduct legal research and assist with case preparation.
• Review financial disclosures and organize case materials.
• Communicate professionally with clients and opposing counsel.
• Assist with preparation for hearings, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Attend court proceedings and gradually develop independent courtroom experience.
• Work closely with experienced attorneys to learn case management, litigation strategy, and California family law procedures.

Qualifications

• Active California State Bar membership in good standing.
• 0–2 years of experience preferred, but not required.
• No prior family law experience necessary.
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and learn quickly.
• Strong work ethic, professionalism, and reliability.
• Compassionate and patient when working with clients.
• Genuine interest in developing a career in family law.
