Summit Human Capital is seeking a highly motivated Lead Software Engineer to support our client in the Greater Richmond, VA Area in the innovative digital products sector. This position has the exciting opportunity to serve as the most senior technical individual contributor on the Digital Products software engineering team, gradually absorbing significant technical ownership and institutional knowledge.
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria
Requirements:
· 10+ years of professional software development experience (quality and breadth prioritized)
· Strong proficiency in C#.NET, Angular, and advanced SQL (beyond basic queries)
· Significant experience working across multiple applications and technology environments
· Full-stack or broad application development experience
· Experience supporting production applications and troubleshooting complex integration problems
· Ability to operate independently as a senior technical owner and adapt to changing priorities/interruption
· Comfortable occasionally supporting systems outside normal business hours
Desired:
· 15+ years of software engineering experience
· Previous Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Technical Lead experience
· Potential interest in eventual people leadership
· SQL Server DBA-type experience (execution plans, performance troubleshooting, database optimization)
· Azure experience or experience with Dynamics integrations (Dynamics 365 F&O, Dynamics CRM)
Responsibilities:
· Serve as the most senior technical individual contributor within the Digital Products engineering organization
· Gradually assume technical ownership and institutional knowledge from the current lead
· Develop and support the ecosystem of custom-built applications, including OTIS and major customer-facing platforms
· Build and maintain integrations between applications and enterprise systems (Dynamics 365 F&O, Dynamics CRM, data warehouse)
· Troubleshoot production issues escalated from the support team and determine severity/priority
· Participate in architecture/design, development, testing, documentation, and integration work
· Mentor or provide technical guidance to other developers and collaborate closely with engineering teammates
· Occasionally provide after-hours or weekend support when critical applications require escalation
The base pay range for this position is $165,000 – $180,000, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
