Summit Financial is seeking a hands-on
Data Analyst
to own data quality, reconciliation and reporting across its core wealth-management systems: CRM, portfolio accounting, custodial, fee billing and advisor compensation. The role sits between the enterprise data platform (Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Power BI) and the business teams that depend on it.
The analyst builds Power BI dashboards and SQL-based controls on Microsoft Azure and Fabric, supports data integrations and migrations, and uses AI tools such as Claude Code and Copilot daily to work faster while validating every result.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile client, household, account, advisor and rep-code data across CRM (Salesforce), portfolio accounting, custodial and billing systems
- Identify and fix duplicate records, orphaned accounts, broken householding, stale effective dates and fee or revenue-attribution mismatches at the source
- Design data quality rules, exception reports and control dashboards in Power BI and SQL
- Maintain business definitions, source-of-record standards, data dictionaries, lineage and reference data; support Master Data Management (Microsoft Purview)
- Write and optimize SQL on Azure SQL, on-premises databases and Microsoft Fabric
- Support Azure Data Factory and Fabric pipelines, advisor onboarding, acquisitions, system integrations and data migrations (field mapping, identifier matching)
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Compliance and Investment Management to turn requirements into durable controls
- Use Claude Code, Copilot and similar AI tools to accelerate SQL, analysis and documentation, owning the output
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years working with data, operations, billing or reporting at an RIA, hybrid RIA/broker-dealer or wealth-management platform
- Strong command of advisor and rep codes, householding, custodial identifiers, AUM/AUA logic, advisory fee schedules, billing and revenue attribution
- Working knowledge of portfolio accounting and trading data (positions, transactions, cash, models)
- Strong SQL (Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric) and advanced Excel; comfort with large, messy datasets and reconciliation logic
- Power BI or comparable BI tool experience (data models, dashboards)
- Current use of AI tools such as Claude Code or Copilot, with the ability to explain how you validate AI-generated output
- Exceptional attention to detail, clear communication with nontechnical stakeholders, and the ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse pipelines
- Python or PySpark for data profiling and automation
- Data governance or MDM tooling (Microsoft Purview); data-quality controls in a production environment
- Power BI semantic models, DAX, Direct Lake
- Salesforce integration; custodial and portfolio platforms such as Schwab, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, Pershing, SEI or Addepar
- Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) or DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) certification
